Pure Zirconia
Pure Zirconia (ZrO 2 ) has high melting point and low thermal conductivity. It is often used as an additive to enhance the properties of other oxide refractory. At room temperature, pure Zirconia is monoclinic form and lacks of toughness. Low strength and toughness make the usage of pure ZrO 2 in many industrial applications impossible.
